Known for our diversity, Singapore boasts people of different ethnicity and racial background. Through generations of mixing within different languages like Chinese, Malay and Hokkien in everyday conversations, Singlish was born.  Terms like “Shiok!” or “Wah!” bring out the essence of the Singapore culture, and is even in the Oxford Dictionary.​
